Steak and Seafood Restaurant in Strandhill, Sligo

Our website is currently under construction.

The Venue Bar & Restaurant is located just eight minutes drive from Sligo Town.

Strandill Sligo

Located at the foot of Knocknarea Mountain and home of Queen Maeve’s Tomb, is the town of Strandhill popular with locals and tourists. The Venue Bar and Restaurant dates from around 1800 and is the second oldest building in Strandhill. The Sligo Bar & restaurant has a cozy open fire, wood interior, and vintage stoneware on high shelves, and has a spectacular view of the Atlantic ocean from it’s restaurant.

The huge glass windows along the back of the restaurant give you spectacular views and a spacious feel. Brick and stone walls, traditional wooden floors, and dark wood tables and chairs combine to form a charming, comfortable retreat in which to indulge in the specialties of the menu.

Lissadell Mussels

Lissadell Mussels

Famous for its Lissadell mussels, crab claws, and seafood chowder served with that wonderful soft-on-the-inside-crunchy-on-the-outside delectable French bread, the Venue serves only the freshest catch and homemade breads. But for those not inclined toward seafood, other treats on the menu include char-grilled steaks, and vegetarian options, along with lighter fare for lunch, of soup, salads (delicious, crisp, and fresh), and open sandwiches, on brown or white bread.

We also have a wide range of a la carte menu options.

The food is marvellous, the view, spectacular: a dining experience not to be missed and not soon forgotten.

The Venue staff are highly trained and have grown with the business over its nine years. The head chef has led our team for seven years and has worked with an internationally acclaimed chef in London.
